Painting the Impressionist Watercolor Paintings
A New Book By Lee Boynton and Linda Gottlieb

Divided into four parts, Painting the Impressionist Watercolor Paintings offers a complete overview to the essentials of impressionism, its colorful evolution, and varied techniques. Part 1 introduces readers to the history of the art form, and explains how its methods apply to Watercolor Paintings. Part 2 details necessary materials and prepares readers for painting. Part 3 presents step-by-step lessons on how to render a wide range of light effects in still life, and through simple block exercises (which allow beginners to learn about color and light without the distractions of a complex subject). Part 4 takes readers beyond the basics and into more complex arenas such as textures and lighting conditions.

Lee Boynton teaches workshops on Watercolor Paintings and impressionist technique, and has had his own work featured in Watercolor Paintings magazine, among other publications. He lives in Annapolis, Md. Linda Gottlieb received her M.A. in English from the University of Illinois and has studied with Lee Boynton for several years. She lives in Crofton, MD.   Order Online
